Bank of America is the biggest underwriter of coal in our country, investing more than 6.4 billion dollars in the last two years alone. When Bank of America funds coal mining and power plants, they are financing dirty air and threatening the health of our communities.
Please take five minutes out of your day to pick up the phone and tell Bank of America to end its financing of the coal industry. Then, let us know how the call went by filling out the fields below. Please remember to be cordial so that the employee will engage in the most useful dialogue possible.
If you get the employee's voicemail, state your concerns candidly or use this simple script:
"Hello, my name is XX and I'm calling in support of Pat Moore who protested in Charlotte today. I want to tell Bank of America to stop bankrolling the dirty coal industry and shift those resources into renewable energy instead."
If s/he answers, say:
"Hello, my name is XX and I'm standing with Pat Moore who protested in Charlotte today. I am also concerned about Bank of America financing dirty coal plants that are threatening our community's health. Will Bank of America please stop bankrolling the dirty coal industry and shift those resources into renewable energy instead?"
