Right now, Chase is considering extending extending BILLIONS in financing for dirty fossil fuel infrastructure. It’s the banks that make the loans, but making the decisions behind those loans are real people, people who (we hope) still have a conscience about the future of our planet.
These four people have a huge decision to make. They have the opportunity to do the right thing, to take a stand for the planet and for human rights - or to move us closer to climate disaster.
Tell them it’s time for Chase to STOP funding pipelines for companies like Enbridge -- the energy giant working for the Line 3 pipeline -- and TransCanada, the company behind Keystone XL.
This fall, JPMorgan Chase is slated to participate in renewing nearly $4 billion in credit to energy companies Enbridge and TransCanada. Banks’ support of these companies continues a legacy of climate damages and abuses of Indigenous rights.
Banks have a choice: you can walk away from Enbridge and TransCanada and from expansion of the tar sands. Wall Street lenders and international banks can refuse to profit from climate disaster, and join a collective global effort to build a thriving future.
I encourage you to do the right thing, to walk away from these dirty projects and leave a legacy you can be proud of. The planet depends on it.
