Contribute to the early stages of an exciting new climate project. Help us define a community vision of a climate-stable future!
Rainforest Action Network (RAN) was founded with the belief that a sustainable and just world can and must be created in our lifetime, and that it will take individuals and communities standing together to confront corporate power to get us there. Through education, grassroots organizing and nonviolent direct action, RAN’s campaigns focus on catalyzing market and investment pressure to transform corporate and government policies and behavior in support of forests, the climate and human rights.
In our twenty-nine years, RAN has won major corporate policy changes that have transformed the oil and banking industries — among many others. RAN’s Climate and Energy Program is tackling the world’s dirtiest fossil fuels, coal and oil, and the leading banks that make their expansion possible, to address the root causes of climate change.
RAN's new Change the Course
project is an invitation to think through what it would actually take to stabilize the climate and create a just transition to a post-carbon future.
We have launched a series of climate-focused workshops and visioning sessions in cities across the country — and a new online platform is coming soon. We are crowd-sourcing a detailed vision of what a sustainable and just future would look like — and developing the strategies and tactics that will get us there.
We are approaching the completion of our workshops, with hundreds of activists joining in, and it's time to compile the vision that's emerged so far.
We're looking for a committed short-term contractor, based in the San Francisco office, to enter the information from our data capture forms and pull out the top-line results from the compiled information. We anticipate between twenty and thirty hours of work total.
This is an opportunity to make a concrete contribution to the early stages of an exciting new climate project. Help us define a community vision of a climate-stable future!
Logistics and Compensation
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. This position is based in RAN's San Francisco office. We plan to offer a reasonable flat fee as compensation for the full project.
