Join the Countdown to Climate Action

This year, we’re kicking off the Countdown to Climate Action: There’s no time left to wait -- it’s time for us to act now and take our power back.

It’s going to take all of us to take on the big banks, like Chase, using our people power to demand that people, Indigenous rights, and planet come before profit. 2020 is the year corporations take action on the climate crisis. Chase doesn’t make the rules, we do, and today we need your help to send them a message.

Let’s remind Chase how powerful we are when we come together to protect our communities and the planet we call home.

Dear Mr. Dimon,

It is now 2020, which means that according to the IPCC’s special report on 1.5°C, we have just ten years to halve emissions in order to stave off the worst effects of the climate crisis. Given this urgency, it is unacceptable that JPMorgan Chase is continuing to fund dirty fossil fuel projects and companies, with absolutely no plan to stop. Moreover, your continued support for companies building problematic projects frequently comes despite strong Indigenous and grassroots opposition.

As the CEO of the world’s biggest banker of fossil fuels, we have a clear demand for you at the start of this new decade: immediately end your funding for the expansion of the fossil fuel sector, and put in place a plan to phase out all support for fossil fuels. As members of JPMorgan Chase’s leadership team and directors of key business areas, you have the power and the responsibility to steer the company toward a business plan that protects the world in which it operates.

You can find more information about Banking on Climate Change 2019, our report where we lay out the rankings of fossil banks around the world, at ran.org/reportcard.

Kind regards,
