Ferrero: Hands off pristine rainforests
This Italian-based chocolate giant doesn’t care if it’s tied to companies that steal land from Indigenous people who need their land for their families' survival, as long as it can make cheaper products with ever cheaper Conflict Palm Oil.
Tell Ferrero it better keeps its greedy little Butterfingers off of Indigenous lands and rainforests!
To Ferrero North America,
A recent report by Rainforest Action Network evaluated how influential banks and brands are treating rainforests and the people who depend on them. The report found that Ferrero has failed to take adequate action to address its contribution to the destruction of forests, ongoing land grabs, and violence against local and Indigenous communities.
I call on your company to immediately investigate and disclose the footprint of your supply chains and investments on global forests, peatlands, and Indigenous Peoples and frontline communities. And to immediately adopt and implement ‘No Deforestation, No Peatland and No Exploitation’ (NDPE) policies across all commodities, and adopt a zero tolerance policy for violence and intimidation of human rights defenders.
Please show the world that your company is taking the urgent climate, biodiversity, and human rights crisis seriously. We still have a chance to keep forests standing, but there is no time to waste.
Kind regards,
