HEY CANDY GIANTS:
STOP DESTROYING RAINFORESTS!

Candymakers Nestlé, Ferrero, and Mondelēz make big, big profits by using cheap palm oil in their products; it’s time they gave back for all the critical rainforest habitats they've destroyed to make their treats!

Do something sweet for forests. 💝 Let Candy Giants know there’s nothing sweet about candy produced with conflict palm oil, soy, cocoa, and pulp & paper from tropical deforestation, the destruction of critical habitat for endangered species, and the flagrant disregard for local communities and Indigenous rights.

Send your message to the Candy Giants!

To Nestlé, Ferrero, and Mondelēz:

The world’s climate is at a perilous tipping point and protecting forests is a critical element to any real solution. Yet forests, and the communities at the frontlines of forest destruction, are increasingly under threat.

Major brands and banks, including your company, have massive forest footprints. A forest footprint is the total area of forests and peatlands that has been, or could be, impacted by a brand’s or bank’s sourcing, investments or financing of forest-risk commodities. This is not limited to environmental impacts—it also includes its impacts on Indigenous Peoples and local communities. Companies can only stop deforestation and exploitation if they understand the impact of their global forest footprint.

As a critical first step, I am calling on your company to investigate and publicly disclose the footprint of your global forest-risk commodity supply chains, investments or financing on forests and peatlands as well as its impacts on the rights of Indigenous Peoples and frontline communities.

Please show the world that your company is a leader and is taking the urgent climate and biodiversity crises seriously. We still have a chance to keep forests standing, but there is no time to waste.
