My message to Jon Moeller:

Rainforests are key to the survival of organized human society: They sequester enough carbon to keep the planet 1°C cooler, generate life-sustaining rain, and protect food systems, to name a few critical ecosystem services.

Rainforests also form the cultural and economic backbone of Indigenous and local communities who have stewarded the land for centuries and sometimes millennia, helping keep our planet within safe operating boundaries.

Despite these facts, Procter & Gamble continues to work with producers like Royal Golden Eagle (RGE), a company connected to rainforest destruction and Indigenous rights violations throughout Indonesia.

When P&G does business with unscrupulous producers like RGE, it tells consumers that P&G prefers short-term profits to crucial ecosystems, Indigenous rights, and the dignity and well-being of frontline communities.

It’s imperative both for people and the planet that P&G act NOW to end its relationship with shady producers, terminating all sourcing from RGE and its full corporate group immediately.
