Should the Olympics partner with companies with bad environmental and human rights records like P&G?

      

As we all watch the excitement of the 2024 Summer Olympics, we need to address a serious concern regarding one of its sponsors, Procter & Gamble (P&G).

P&G has a poor track record on environmental and human rights, earning a failing grade of "F" in our Keep Forests Standing 2023 scorecard. Indigenous communities and forest defenders continue to suffer from deforestation caused by P&G’s suppliers, threatening their way of life.

If P&G truly wants to embody Olympic values, it needs a comprehensive Human Rights Defender Policy. Until then, can it really claim to live up to the Olympic Spirit?
