Now let's finish what the Last Place on Earth film started.
Because the story doesn't end here.
The film closes with a moment of hope: the launch of the Aceh Sustainable Palm Oil Working Group. It's the result of years of pressure from frontline communities, local partners, and people around the world who refused to accept rainforest destruction as the cost of doing business.
But this is only the beginning.
The commitments made in the Leuser Ecosystem will only succeed if the world's largest palm oil buyers—including Mondelēz, Nestlé, PepsiCo, Mars, Unilever and Procter & Gamble—stay engaged and follow through with real investment, accountability, and action.
Join Rainforest Action Network to help keep the pressure on. Together we can turn initial promises into lasting protection on the ground for rainforests, wildlife, and Indigenous communities—and prove this model can work far beyond the Leuser Ecosystem.
