Tell Bank CEOs to Stop Banking on Tar Sands Oil

This fall big Banks are slated to provide nearly $4 BILLION dollars to tar sands pipeline companies. Banks like JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo will be providing credit lines to Enbridge, the energy giant working for the Line 3 pipeline and TransCanada, the company behind Keystone XL.

Tar sands is one of the worst types of oil for the climate and has contaminated the drinking water, land and food of First Nations people in Canada. Under international human rights standards, Indigenous people must give free, prior, and informed consent to development on their lands, and so far Enbridge and TransCanada have failed to secure consent.

We need you to show banks that we won’t tolerate threats to clean water, clean air, our shared climate and Indigenous rights. Sign this petition to tell banks to drop Enbridge and TransCanada!

To the CEOs of JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo :

Stop financing tar sands pipelines and extraction.

Honor Indigenous rights and move your banks towards climate stability. Cut off Enbridge’s and TransCanada’s $4 billion in credit now, before there are any further steps towards construction of the Line 3 or Keystone XL pipelines.
